The UWCM Foundation is a registered charity that performs the charitable activities of the members of the UWCM.
Established on April 15th, 1985, the UWCM Public Foundation awards education grants to assist mature women students who have been accepted into a full-time undergraduate program at Concordia University and to single mothers who are advancing their post-secondary education in the Project Chance program. It also supports the following charities with monies every year: Atwater Library, Auberge Madeleine, Auberge Transition, Chez Doris, Auberge Shalom pour Femmes, Montreal Children’s Library, Native Women’s Shelter, Old Brewery Mission, and Tyndale St. George’s Community Centre. Monies to fund the Foundation come from the annual Fundraising Dinner and Auction held each fall and from donations from members and others for whom charitable receipts will be issued.
The Foundation Annual Report for 2007-2008 and the 2007 Auction Report provide an overview of the Foundations activities.
